PRODUCTION WORKERS

We are actively recruiting candidates at our manufacturing facility in Debert, NS.

Our ideal production worker candidate is comfortable working with hand tools, is able to read a tape measure and understands the importance of producing a quality product. They must also have an excellent work ethic and attitude and contribute to a positive, friendly and safe work environment.

Production Worker – Summer Student

Reports to: Production Manager/Production Foreperson

Kohltech is hiring students to fill a number of manufacturing positions this summer in various production departments such as:

• Paint
• Shipping

• Casement Window Line
• Slider Window Line

• Patio Doors

Qualifications:

• Completion of Grade 12 and entering a post-secondary education program in the fall of 2025 or entering Grade 12 in September 2025.
• Can commit to working Monday to Friday until August 29th, 2025.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality record.
• Previous experience using hand tools and reading a measuring tape would be an asset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

What We Offer:

• A consistent schedule of 6am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday.
• Some evening shifts available – Monday to Thursday from 2:30pm – 1:00am.

JUNIOR PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Reports To: Manager of Research and Development

About the Role:

The Junior Product Development Engineer works closely with other members of the R&D Team, and with Sales and Marketing and Manufacturing to design, develop, and maintain our products in a way that maximizes utility and performance while meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements and considering ease of manufacturing. The Junior Product Development Engineer will be responsible for preparing drawings and specifications, testing, maintaining certifications, gathering requirements, and participating in other activities related to the development and introduction of new product options, new products, and new equipment. This role is ideal for an engineering graduate who is passionate about product design, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the research, design, and development of new window products and components.
• Support the improvement of existing products through testing, analysis, and material optimization.
• Work with production teams to ensure seamless manufacturing and implementation of new designs.
• Conduct product performance testing to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors on material selection and cost-effective solutions.
• Utilize CAD software to create and modify technical drawings.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal teams and stakeholders.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and sustainability practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in product development, manufacturing, or a related role (internships welcome).
• Proficiency in CAD software .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of materials science, manufacturing processes, and quality control.
• Excellent teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary: Responsible for front desk administrative duties such as routing phone calls, mailing, faxing and greeting visitors. Also responsible for maintaining spreadsheets and ordering office supplies and literature. General office duties, such as filing and assisting co-workers is also expected of this position.

• Answering the phone and directing calls to the appropriate department.

• Handling sensitive information in a confidential manner.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Customer service experience would also be considered an asset.
• Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong level of computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Products required.

SHUNT TRUCK DRIVER

Job Summary: The shunt truck driver will be responsible for keeping jobsite and regular delivery trailers organized in the yard. When not shunting the driver will work in the Shipping department.

Job Duties:

• Shunt trailers in and out of shipping doors as required.
• Track and record where Kohltech trailers are offsite.
• Deliver and unload product and carts between door and window plant.
• Ensure that security and safety measures are followed.
• Shipping duties as required.

Employment requirements:

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license.
• Air brake endorsement is considered an asset.
• Valid forklift ticket is considered an asset.

Job Summary: The Customer Service Representative is responsible for responding to dealer inquiries and ensuring the highest level of customer service. The CSR will work with our dealers to identify their needs, create solutions, and ensure a successful sales process for their customers. They will also support our territory sales teams by fostering the growth of our existing dealers and supporting our efforts to expand our market share.

Job Duties:

• Offer fact-based product solutions to dealers and potential clients, to ensure our product offering meets their long-term goals.
• Respond to daily customer inquiries and promote the Quality and Service of the Kohltech brand to achieve revenue potential.
• Maintain service to existing customer base to maximize revenue returns.
• Deliver quotations for products to dealers/customers in an expedient manner.
• Maintain a high level of knowledge about evolving product lines.
• Proactive resolution of specific customer-related issues, and professional support of all customer inquiries.
• Communicate daily with Production, Scheduling, Shipping and R&D Departments to meet company objectives and customer needs.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education or a combination of education and relevant work experience would be preferred.
• A minimum of one year’s experience interacting with others in a professional (B2B) setting and building client relationships.
